About Me

I use my love of writing to bring attention to the issues that matter.

My path to journalism has not been typical. As an undergraduate at Brown University, I channeled my passion for exploring the breadth of human experience into a degree in cultural anthropology. I continued to work in that discipline as a Master's student at the University of Chicago, at which point I realized that I wanted my work to be accessible and meaningful to everyone, including those outside the ivory tower. Today, I use many of the same tools – interviewing, building relationships, digging deeply into the underlying issues – to produce reporting that is direct, detailed, and newsworthy.

I am an experienced multimedia journalist with a large portfolio of work in radio, TV, web and social media. Over the course of my career, I have covered topics including child welfare, school funding, the pharmaceutical industry, the housing shortage, food insecurity and more.

I am currently working at WOUB Public Media, where I cover children and poverty as a Report for America corps member. My term ends May 31, 2025, and I am actively seeking opportunities for the next chapter in my career.
